Itshould always be considered when selecting speed reducers.Normally, the value resulting from dividing the load torque by the radius ofthe rotating body (sprocket, pulley, and so on) is considered to be theoverhang load (OHL).4-2)Calculation of the equivalent allowable overhang loadThe acceptable overhang load value shown in the catalog is calculated onthe assumption that the load is acting on the center of the LS dimensionshown for the output shaft. Therefore, when the point where the load isapplied is not in the center of the LS dimension, the acceptable value inthe catalog will not be correct.
